Shunting and marshalling signals



Rolling signal
(Signal lumineux de manoeuvre (SLM))

This signal concerns precise shunts on some service tracks.

Stop shunting.
Order to pull train.
Order to push train.
End of using the signal (the lights remain on during 15 seconds).

Origin indicator
(Tableau indicateur de provenance (TIP))

This signal is used in marshalling yards.
If a single protection signal is used for several converging tracks, a luminous panel is associated with the signal and indicates the number of the track from which a train can proceed.

NB: may be replaced by the converging track signal.

Example: '8' for track 8.




Converging track signal
(Tableau lumineux de correspondance pour voies convergentes)

This signal is used in marshalling yards.
If a single protection signal is used for several converging tracks, there is on each track a converging track signal.
This signal allows proceeding to the protection signal from the converging track chosen by the pointsman.

NB: may be replaced by the origin indicator.

  Absolute stop
Absolute stop.
  Shunt ahead
Permission to shunt inside marshalling yard.
  Departure signal
Permission to leave marshalling yard.
