1. Identification plates

Each stop signal has an identifier plate.

Controlled signal

This plate is used to identify a controlled stop signal.
It carries:
– corresponding station name, abbreviated (red) ;
signal's function and track number (black).

Signal's function :

'A' = 'Ausfahrsignal' = exit signal
'D' = 'Deckungssignal' = particular point protection signal
'E' = 'Einfahrsignal' = entrance signal
'G' = 'Gruppensignal' = group signal
'K' = 'Kehrsignal' = reversal signal
'R' = 'Rückziehsignal' = signal for backward parkings

Automatic signal (permissive)

This plate is used to identify an automatic stop signal.
It carries:
– corresponding station name, abbreviated (above) ;
signal's function and track number (below).

A stop signal at red can be passed at restricted speed, after complete stop.

Plain track signal

This plate is used to identify a signal of plain track, i.e. not being part of the sector of a station, a workshop or a shunting zone.

2. Permissive stop

This aspect indicates that the signal can be passed at danger or signal dysfunction, not exceeding 20 kph.

3. Signal placement

Signals are normally placed on the right side of the track.
When a signal is set on the left, it is accompanied by a white arrow directed towards the concerned track.
